Staff Pick Notes

Hailed by Pliny the Elder and various ancient poets, Falanghina wine is said to have been a favourite in the royal court of Naples. It was even included on the papal wine list. The vine was probably introduced to Campania by Greek colonists, later becoming indigenous to the Italian region. Made from grapes grown on a mixture of sandy and volcanic soils, the Falnghina del Sannio Aicon is a deliciously perky white is the perfect spring/summer wine. Lively and zesty with pear and citrus fruits tinged with delicate floral aromatics. The finish is wonderfully clean with refreshing acidity that carries a clean, mineral streak from start to finish.
