Staff Pick Notes

The mundane world blurs at its edges upon sipping this Chilean masterpiece. I thought I didn't have the palate for orange wines until this discovery graced me. Imagine old vines sat atop volcanic and granitic soils serving as an IV drip for the 100-year old grapes (primarily Moscatel with the architectural backbone of Sémillion.) This is a gorgeous wine made with minimal intervention on gorgeous steep slopes in the Itata region of Southern Chile, made possible by master Leonardo Erazo. The craze of wine bars supplying endless sub par skin-contact wines has muddled my mind until now, This clarity isn't random, but stems from approaching artisanal expressions from regions others may find mysterious or seldom exposed. 'Granitico' surpasses any possible dull conversation regarding 'funk' etc. allowing one to experience sheer sophistication.
