St. George Terroir Gin

Item # 26361 750 mL

This unique gin is a tribute to distiller Lance Winters memories of California's Mt. Tam coastal forest. Douglas fir, California Bay laurel, and California Coastal sage are some of the items that make up this one of a kind gin. We found aromas of woody, bark of rosemary and spicy citrus. Pungent but ultimately inviting spirit with a lush texture.

Staff Pick Notes

The wild outdoors; the forest in your glass; profoundly Californian. All of these descriptions are accurate when discussing this masterpiece of a gin from St. George. Lance Winters, master distiller at St. George, always seem to take an interesting idea and dial up the creativity to an entirely new level. That is surely the case here! Wild foraged Douglas Fir tips and California Bay Laurel leaves from neighboring Mt. Tam blend together to form Terroir’s aromatic signature, while local fennel and coastal sage, found in Mt. Tam's woods next to the hiking trails, bring forth extra freshness They even roast their coriander in a wok before infusion! Ultimately, this gin has the ability to transform your next martini while transporting you to California, but be sure to try it simply on the rocks as well!

Glossary

California

California makes more wine than any other state in the United States. Not only does the state grow a variety of noble grape varieties like Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, there are also plantings of lesser-known varieties such as Nebbiolo, Roussanne and Mourvèdre to name just a few.

Terroir

“Terroir” means earth or soil in French. In the wine world, terroir refers to the physical conditions of a region, a vineyard site, or any parcel of vine-populated land. Terroir is the interplay between soil and climate and the impact of these elements on a wine.
