Au Bon Climat "Sanford & Benedict" Chardonnay

Au Bon Climat "Sanford & Benedict" Chardonnay - 2021

Item # 75015 750 mL

The first “great“ vineyard in Santa Barbara County was planted by Richard Sanford and Michael Benedict in 1971, Au Bon Climat was lucky enough to buy a few tons grapes from this vineyard in the mid 1980s. The juice is barrel fermented in French oak barrels, (about 50% new). It then undergoes a secondary complete malo-lactic fermentation, then aged surlee for a total time in barrel of 20 months and is bottled unfiltered. Elegant Burgundian style with great minerality that lingers on the finish.
