Staff Pick Notes

Fair warning: this is not going to be a “hot take”. Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc has been rated 90+ points by every major wine critic for the last decade or so. It’s not ground-breaking. It’s not trying to be different. It really is just exceptional. Leaping out of the glass, every time I smell this wine, I want to make a candle out of it. Fresh white peaches, pear, honeysuckle, and white roses… can think of a more romantic bouquet? On the palate, the texture is lush, but not overpowering, with a citrus-heavy finish. Whether you buy this as a housewarming gift or a reception dinner aperitif, I promise you, it will not go un-loved. Try it with your best friend and a beautiful sunset. Alternatively, if you manage to find the Four Horsemen’s Celery Salad recipe, this would make a beautiful pairing to that as well.

Some are fermented in barrel, others in stainless steel. Some...
