From arguably the greatest purveyor of classic Japanese liqueurs, this 19th century producer takes extreme pride in their craft. The premium sake base, high quality distillate and use of the whole fruit make this perhaps the purest and most complex yuzu liqueur you will ever taste. The hand-picked fruit, preserving an abundance of natural oils and the extremely high 21% total juice content with the pulp included for maximum flavor will absolutely have your senses lit up. Great in so many potential drinks whether mixed with vodka, gin or more but the natural low abv. shines in a minimalist aperitf with soda water or tonic and a twist. Refrigerate after opening.

Located in the Nara basin right under Mount Katsuragi, Umenoyado Brewery has been brewing sake and creating suprising new products since 1893. They strive to create a new sake culture as well as new beverage traditions, and have developed a line of spirits brewed with a sake base and fresh fruit juices. Enter their Yuzu Liqueur, the chuggable, lemonade-y, overall perfect addition to light and bright cocktails. I added this, a splash of Oka Kura Sake Dry Vermouth, and a lemon rind garnish to a base spirit of Colorful Shochu to create my own version of a Yuzu Martini and it was a hit! Winter may be fast approaching, but keep this bottle in your fridge for when you need a dose of sunshine.
