Woodford Reserve Straight Rye Whiskey

Woodford Reserve Straight Rye Whiskey

750 mL
Item # 32342

The first ever rye from this much beloved distillery is completely true to form, reflecting Woodford's mellow, sophisticated, drinkable style. Master Distiller Chris Morris has created a whiskey that will be a permanent part of the Woodford portfolio with special releases surely to follow down the line. Aged a minimum of two years, with 53% rye grain in the mashbill, the spirit hits some lovely sweet notes with aromas of clover honey, vanilla, and Anjou pear. After a few minutes, deeper notes of chai tea, preserved lemon, and baking spices come forward without losing any intensity. The whiskey is lush on the palate but with a pronounced spiciness both from the grain and oak that is a big departure from the bourbon. It's clear the folks at Woodford haven't cut any corners on this one. This is great rye.
