"Avanti Popolo", Le Temps des Cerises - NV

Item # 51582 750 mL

This dry red is a blend of a multitiude of grapes. Grenache spent 8 days on the skins, and 10 days for Syrah. Alicante, Merlot, and Cabernet were all directly pressed. Fresh, light-bodied, and aromatic, this will pair well with potato and anchovy gratin.

Staff Pick Notes

Axel Prufer has a solid reputation in the world of natural wine, and has been making zero/zero wines from organically grown grapes in his adoptive Languedoc for two decades. His talent is creating cuvées from single-vineyard grapes harvested at different times, much like this here Avanti Popolo. This wine reminds me of a tight jazz combo. Each grape varietal really stands out individually - the Grenache, Cabernet, Syrah and Merlot all seem to have something to say - but they all come together in perfect harmony to create something greater than the sum of its parts. It’s mega juicy, absolutely gushing with ripe black fruit, medium bodied but low on tannins. Textbook crushable. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Today, Cabernet Sauvignon has a...
