Staff Pick Notes

This is a lovely and unpretentious sparkler made in the traditional method from Melon de Bourgogne, which is more commonly associated with still wines from Muscadet. Its naturally high acidity and lean mineral-driven profile make for a great sparkling wine that presents with ripe green pear, apple, and nectarine on the palate and a delightful toasty finish. A great go-to for an everyday sparkling wine.

Glossary

Melon de Bourgogne

Loire

There’s a lot to remember when it comes to the Loire. Novices, take note: Cabernet Franc is a great alternative to Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscadet is unparalleled as a companion to shellfish, and Cour Cheverny is the best white wine appellation you’ve never heard of. As diverse as Loire wines are, one day soon you'll know your Melon de Bourgogne from your Romorantin.
