Very Xtra Old Fitzgerald 10yr Bottled in Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey - 1956

These Old Fitzgralds are the best of what Stitzel Weller bottled in the 60s and 70s with the Old Man Pappy Himself at the helm. These would have been in a category all their own during this period and the quality captured in these releases is why everyone today knows the Van Winkle name. Simply put this is Pappy, made by Pappy. A nearly priceless relic of American Whiskey. This specific bottling was created from whiskies distilled in 1956 at the old Stitzel Weller Distillery and bottled in bond in 1966 after a decaded of aging in ancient slow growth American Oak. The bottle itself is in incredible shape considering the age with the whiskey sitting ust below the neck at the top of the shoulders. The bottle is also presented with the original red velevet bottle holder, a tradition carried over to the Pappy line, as well as the original box which is intact but visibly worn.
