Viognier "Bel Serrat", La Tour Boisée - 2023

750 mL
Item # 48673

Made from three different types of Viognier - all hailing from the prestigious Condrieu area of the northern Rhône, but grown in the Languedoc. While the vines are young, the wine is already gorgeous with aromas of peaches and apricots on the palate. A dry white that's generous on the palate.

Staff Pick Notes

100% Viognier. Though, not quite a single varietal wine. Bel Serrat is blended with three other Viognier subvarietals. This crisp white is incredibly balanced, Aligning with typical expectations of Viognier, but special in its achievement in re-interpreting the grape's blending capacity. When I first tried this wine I poured into a Bordeaux glass and used it in place of incense for my kitchen. This is one of the most wildly fragrant white wines I’ve discovered thus far, revealing distinct notes of tangerine zest, jasmine, and rose. The grapes hail from the reputable Condrieu area of the Northern Rhône, but are grown in the Languedoc. Would pair seamlessly alongside a spiced Moroccan tagine with golden raisins.
