Staff Pick Notes

It is so very rare to get the chance to experience a proper single barrel expression from Laphroaig. This Single Cask Selection is the personification of the power and finess that is classic Laphroaig. Distilled in 2014 and aged on Islay for 8 years in a single Pedro Ximenez Sherry Hogshead. The cask-strength bottling allows for most development in the glass and the addition of just a few drops of water facilitates a profound blossoming of flavor throughout the sip. A nose of dried cranberry and walnut shells evolves into an experience of brandy-soaked dates and Champagne raisins. The smoke factor or PPM of peat is always present and very consistent in the Laphroaig profile. The signature olfactory experience of salt and iodine arrives delightfully late in the sip, allowing the fruit and nut profile to shine long into the finish.

Distilleries started to take out licenses, and since then, the distillation industry in Scotland has been continuously expanding....
