Staff Pick Notes

This excellent value wine is made mostly of Cabernet Sauvignon with a little addition of Syrah and Carignan. The number 500 and the stripes on the label refer to the minimum altitude where the grapes were sourced to make this wine. The high elevation of the vineyards guarantees a bright acidity and freshness often not achieved in Cabernet Sauvignons. This wine has the classic qualities of Cabernet Sauvignon: dark fruit, tobacco and pencil shavings. These flavors are well integrated with a gentle spicy note and a pleasant freshness. Yummy and affordable!
