Channing Daughters, Cabernet Franc - 2019

Item # 46432 750 mL

A lighter-bodied and lithe expression of Cabernet Franc, this dry red exhibits aromas of red fruit, spice, and a floral note. The fruit was hand-harvested, crushed by foot, and aged in both stainless steel, and older oak barrels for 8 months. Pair with elegant red with roast Long Island duck Beijing-style.

Staff Pick Notes

Year after year, the wines of Long Island just get better. Channing Daughters have always been front runners, producing wines from over two dozen different varietals, and making orange wines long before they were a thing. Today however, I want to give a loud shout out to their Cabernet Franc. A Long Island workhorse grape that thrives on both forks, a good Long Island cab franc like this one will always remind me of winery hopping out east in the Fall. Aromas of bright red fruit, currants, purple flowers, and a silky palate with a cheeky bit of pepper make this wine irresistible. At Channing Daughters, they “seek deliciousness. We do everything by hand in small batches with lots of love and attention in order to fulfill our commitment to quality wine in the bottle”. Paired perfectly with BBQ’d duck from Miloski’s in Calverton.

In fact,...
