Lés-a-Lés, Serio de Siria - 2017

Item # 41991 750mL

Made from the little known Siria grape, harvested from an abandoned vineyard that had grown wild. A stunning white wine with layers of flavors and textures. Great for ceviche and oysters, as well as halibut and roasted chicken. The idea behind Les-a-Les is to find indigenous grapes from vineyards that have been abandoned and make small experimental batches.

I couldn't help but compare this to saké in some ways, and I truly haven't ever tried a wine like this before. The texture is rich and full, yet refreshing. This is yet another example of the many little-known grape varieties and styles of Portugal. Les-a-Les is exactly the project that I love, sourcing high-quality traditional wines at accessible prices that are both delicious and interesting.
