Nikka From The Barrel Japanese Whisky

This iconic whisky recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, but don’t tell anyone that it is still one of the best kept secrets of Japan! Emiko Kaji, one of Japan's foremost whisky experts (she's been with Nikka for almost 30 years!) led one of the greatest Astor staff trainings ever, and this bottle was the star of the show! Over 100 different batches of malt & grain whiskies are in this bottle. So many flavors are present here that it is akin to a symphony orchestra in perfect rhythm, each instrument molding into a single sound. Selected batches are blended together in a unique “marriage” process using a range of oak barrels that mellows out the flavor & creates the smoothest palate. The master blenders have also found that 51.4% abv is the perfect level to achieve optimal balance between texture & flavor. A truly memorable bottle!
