750 mL
Item # 39051

Winemaker Claudio Faccoli's roots are in Franciacorta and his family winery is located in the coveted heart of the region, Monte Orfano. His production is miniscule as yields are low and the property is small with a mere 5 ha of vines planted. This Brut is giving, a vinous sparkler that you can drink before your meal alongside hors d'oeuvres.

Staff Pick Notes

We are all love Champagne! But sometimes we forget about real Gem from Lombardia, Italy – Franciacorta. Metodo classico Italian sparkling wine, that is a wine made using the classic Champagne-making method. Faccoli farm extends over 10 hectares (just 10 Hha!) on the sides of Mount Orfano, at the south-west of Franciacorta. Faccoli family came on here in 1963, Franciacorta was in its infancy and viticulture in progress at all. Today the company produces 50.000 bottles of Franciacorta a year in the types Rosé Brut, Extra Brut, Brut, Dosage Zero. Their flagship Brut is fresh, crisp and very powerful at the same time. Full of aromas of croissant, oranges and toast. Ideal for the breakfast!

Lombardy

Home to lighter-bodied renditions of Nebbiolo from the villages of Grumello and Sassella, Lombardy produces the unique interpretations of Nebbiolo called Sfursat (or Sforzato). While aged Sfursat/Sforzato is highly enjoyable and quite sought-after, we find its youthful exuberance...

Terroir, the concept that wines from a specific region have unique and identifiable traits, is intricately...

Chardonnay

From Champagne to Chablis, it's hard (not to mention unpleasant) to avoid this famous white variety. During a huge popularity surge beginning in the late 1980s, Chardonnay plantings have increased dramatically -- not only in California's wine country, with which the variety is nearly synonymous, but also in Burgundy (its original, Old World home) and just about everywhere else in the winemaking world. It is a flexible, eager-to-please grape, responding well to just about anything a winemaker...
