Staff Pick Notes

Mastering the vast number of the grape varieties and Italy's DOCs are a constant source of adventure for any wine enthusiast. Case in point: Here we have the six generations of tradition from the Cianfagna family who have maintained their legendary vineyards and rigorous standards of Tintilia de Molise DOCG. I love the relaxed aromas of black cherry, delicate spice, prune, and pepper of this red. Its balanced acidity, moderate fruit and accessible tannins (unlike Sagrantino) make this wine a unique joy to drink. I admire this family's dedication to agriculture and centuries of Italian heritage brought to life in my glass. Chindon!
