Syrocco, Graillot - 2022

Item # 34617 750 mL

Alain Graillot is best known for his Northern Rhône wines, but we're thrilled he came across Syrah vineyards while cycling in Zenata, Morocco. The resulting wine is full of tasty dark fruit flavors and spices and is versatile enough to pair with most foods.

Staff Pick Notes

Grown in the Zenata AOG along the coast of the Atlantic ocean, Syrah is grown on gravelly soil with warm days and cool nights due to the cooling Atlantic breezes. This climate allows the grapes to ripen fully throughout the warm summer and are able to retain freshness with the cooler nights. Alain Graillot, famous for his Northern Rhône Syrahs, while riding his bike on vacation saw Syrah's future in the region. Teaming up with Thalvin Winery, who provided Graillot with parcels of Syrah vines that are farmed organically. This Syrah has French roots, though has the distinctive style of the Moroccan coast. The wine is juicy and vibrant, though still has its Old World elegance.
