Channing Daughters, Pétillant Naturel "Bianco" - 2023

Item # 32311 750 mL

An exciting release from Channing Daughters. This is a sparkling wine made in a process known as "Méthode Ancestrale" with a slightly cloudy nature and leesy characteristics. Citrus, stone fruits, brioche, and lees flavors mingle together in the glass, making this well-textured wine versatile to pair with anything from appetizers to entrées.

Staff Pick Notes

Being new to the wonderful world of Pétillant Naturel wines can be a daunting experience! It's only natural to wonder if it's chill that the juice is slightly cloudy, that it has a crown cap, or if the stuff in the bottom of the bottle is actually supposed to be there! Have no fear, all those things are 100% normal in the wild west according to Pét-Nats! This wonderfully enchanting wine from Channing Daughters is made primarily from Sauvignon Blanc (the queen of all white grapes) accompanied by Pinot Grigio and Tocai Friulano! These three grapes come together to make a beautifully balanced light bodied sparkling wine.

New York

New York winemakers have embraced international varieties and hit the ground running. The Hudson River Valley is home to the oldest vineyards in New York State. No longer is our fair state synonymous with Concord grapes and Manischewitz; look for brilliant iterations of Pinot Noir, Riesling, Cabernet Franc,...

Cat pee aside, Sauvignon Blanc (sometimes called "Fumé Blanc" in California) is a bit of a chameleon in terms of style, and quite utterly at the whim of the winemaker. Some are fermented in barrel, others in stainless steel. Some...

Pinot Grigio

Pinot Grigio is an Italian synonym for the French Pinot Gris variety, but many more people have had Pinot Grigio than a Pinot Gris. At its most basic level, the grape produces varietals that are smooth and easy to drink, and perfect with a huge range of dishes that just beg to be paired with a fresh white wine. There is an entire spectrum of Pinot Gris/Grigio, however, the best of them being subtly aromatic and deeply colored, with formidable structures. Most of Italy's Pinot Grigio is grown in...
