Staff Pick Notes

Another casualty of Prohibition, Rock and Rye was pretty much the birth of the bottled cocktail and at one time would have shared a prominent place on any bar's shelf. Lucky for us New York Distilling has brought back an incredible version of this forgotten piece of history. Mister Katz's R & R is flat out delicious! They take their young rye whiskey & combine it with rock candy sugar, sour cherries, cinnamon & a hint of citrus peel. It's such a smooth sip on it's own but at 65 proof, it has enough kick for cocktail mixing! Try it in this delicious cocktail served tall: Me & Her, 11/4oz. R & R, 1oz. Scotch whisky, 3/4oz. lemon juice, 1/2oz. cassis, 1/4oz.Campari, Combine all ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass, top with club soda & garnish with a lemon wedge (Sekend Sun, Astoria NY)
