Staff Pick Notes

I am have been a fan of Matthiasson wines for some time now. Winemaker Steve Matthiasson prioritizes sustainable winemaking with an emphasis on expression and purity of fruit. California Chardonnay has a bad rap for being over indulgent in oak but Matthiasson returns California Chardonnay to glory with this beautiful wine. The vineyard is located ideally for chardonnay, with cool winds you can taste its crisp acidity. The fruit is harvested at varying levels of ripeness, the end result being a complex wine with freshness and minerality, layered on rich yellow apples and lemon. The wine is pressed whole cluster and aged in seasoned French oak barrels. Bring this home to see for yourself what all the fuss is about!
