Staff Pick Notes

The Ex Umbris (Latin for 'out of the shadows') opens up on the nose with aromas of raspberry, cherry, leather and sage. Earthy blue fruits, raspberry tart, savory poppy seed and white pepper notes fill out a rich, structured palate with silky smooth tannins framed with just the right amount of fresh acidity. David O’Reilly has crafted the Owen Roe wines since their inception, with a focus on producing wines of integrity and character. He is dedicated to sourcing fruit from only the highest quality vineyards in Yakima and Willamette Valley, and allows the expression of the grape to define the end result. David believes it’s "only by observing nature that we can harvest fruit at its delicate peak of aromatic development, while maintaining balanced pH and high acidity”. A simply gorgeous example of Syrah and an unbelievable value.
