Le TelQuel, Pierre Bonhomme - 2023

Item # 15346 750 mL

This is a Gamay wine from the Loire Valley, made by natural winemaker Pierre Olivier Bonhomme. This vintage is particularly giving, perhaps more fruited than in cooler years yet still shows plenty of dark berried fruit character. Excellent at the table with a slight chill.

Staff Pick Notes

I am a Dachshund owner (x2) so the charming label art and the name Telquel, a play on the German word Teckel (another name for Dachshund) means this fun VDF red wine holds a special place in my heart. A blend that changes every year but is generally Gamay dominant, this organic wine is fermented whole cluster with a 15-day maceration and is unfiltered and unfined. Full of dark berry notes with a touch of deep earthiness, this wine can be slightly spritzy and does great with a slight chill. Just like a Teckel, it’s bright, full of personality, and demanding of all your attention.

In fact,...
