Staff Pick Notes

When it comes to Tequila, I like it clean and bright and untouched by any oak. However, after tasting this 5-year-aged Extra Añejo, I am changing my attitude. This is delicious. El Tesoro has been around since the 1990s and the distiller, Carlos Camarena, and his family have been making agave spirits for generations. Unlike their other aged Tequilas, the Paradiso is aged in ex-Cognac casks. So instead of the ever-present vanilla note you get from Bourbon casks, here the flavors meld and allow the agave essence to shine through with notes of citrus and confections that are beautiful.
