I am in love with all of Tatsuya “Moto” Motonaga’s creations, which are arguably the most thought provoking and emotionally charged spirits of my collection. They are the epitome of authenticity, dedication, and demonstrate an understanding of blending aromas & flavors that is astounding. Motonaga not only oversees the organic farming of dozens of local botanicals at his home in Sagamihara, but finds a way to combine the most unique and beautiful flavors into a range of bitters that are so smooth, yet full of so much power. It is nearly impossible to find these outside of Japan so we are thrilled to carry several expressions at Astor. With this Cask Marriage bottling, we finally get to experience the textured, rich flavors that occur when aged in Japanese Whisky casks for 2 years from none other than Chichibu and others! Perfection.
