Our first ever single barrel selection from this iconic brand and we've picked a special one for you. Aged for just over 8yrs this whiskey will defy everything you think you know about wheated bourbons. Filled on November 2nd, 2016 and aged at the Bardstown campus in Rickhouse H1, on the 4th floor. Bottled at a seriously powerful 64.3% abv barrel strength. Tossing aside the easier sipping sweeter profile this style can be synonymous with, this expression is all about the power of the abv and the intensity of the oak from the 8yrs of aging. Complex spices, aged maduro tobacco, red hot cinnamon, dark chocolate, pure vanilla and cherry preserves will leave your tastebuds on cloud nine.

Staff Pick Notes

We are very happy to have our 1st single barrel from Larceny, coming from the same wheated mashbill as Old Fitzgerald but presented at a barrel proof of 128.6 instead of bottled in bond. You can smell the heat on the nose but the mouth feel is not over blown and surprisingly well integrated. Oh man does this pack a punch that you can feel going down. A couple of drops of water really opens this up allowing access to the many layers of wood, tannin, spice and caramel that this revels as sip on this over time. Just a delight!
