Scarlet Orange Amaro - 2024

Frankly, having seen first-hand the truly mind-boggling amount of hand labor that went into making this batch, it is unbelievable that it doesn't cost three times as much. Scarlet Orange Amaro is produced using blood oranges sourced from a friend’s farm in Ehime Prefecture. Scarlet founder Tatsuya Motonaga and a team of seventy volunteers hand press fresh citrus, which is immediately transferred to stainless steel tanks to retain its vivacity while the orange peels and other botanicals are macerated in neutral spirit. The aromatized spirit is blended with the blood orange juice and then immediately bottled, capturing a full spectrum of sweet citrus flavors and earthy supporting botanicals. Additional botanicals include lemon balm, bramble leaves, ginger, and camellia flowers. Unreal taste. Very limited.
