Michel Genet founded his artisanal grower Champagne house in the 1960s, spanning Grand Cru Chardonnay territories of Chouilly and Cramant. Now run by the fifth generation, MG Champagne is managed and vinified by hand, all with a huge emphasis on sustainability (they are biodynamic and organic certified). MG’s Blanc de Blanc Brut Nature, as the name indicates, is a zero dosage (brut nature means no sugar added) bottle of 100% Chardonnay grown in the chalky soils along the Cote des Blancs. Pure lean minerality and mouthwatering citrus perfectly prime the palate, while a lemon yogurt and toasty nose hint at the malolactic fermentation and lees ageing. What a beautiful grower Champagne for incredible value - the perfect partner to a fried chicken sandwich of course.
