Distilled by maestro mezcaleros Enrique and Féderico de la Cruz, this agaves come from Mezquital, Durango. Roasted in a conical underground oven, mashed by axe, this is fermented in pine wood lined vats. Distilled twice in copper, wood, and cactus, this was proofed down with spring water.

Astor is lucky enough to have procured the entire 135 litre batch of this magical spirit, handmade by Enrique and Federico de la Cruz. Describing the flavors and aromas is tricky as they are singular and unique. The palate encounters a fruity creaminess that is almost uncanny in this clear liquid. Notes I detected include vanilla cream, roasted corn, banana pudding, and juicy fruit gum. If you enjoy new tasting experiences, this is a must.
