Lets talk about balance. What makes a whiskey balanced versus something that is polarizing on the palate? The Glenrothes 15 year is perfect whiskey in my opinion. Ample amounts of fruit, integrated oak usage and a reasonable bottle proof creates this perfect dram. This is a rounded, creamy, sherry-forward whiskey with expressive notes of baked orchard fruits, hazelnuts, ginger, dark chocolate and marmalade. The 15 years of wood aging furthers these notes with tertiary notes of leather, cinnamon and dried stone fruits. An exceptional whiskey with a perfect age statement if you ask me.
