Gevrey-Chambertin "Ostrea," Dom. Trapet - 2022

Item # 52393 750 mL

Ostrea is a unique wine from the Trapet family's oldest vines, originally planted in 1913 by family patriarch, Pierre Arthur Trapet. These vines are a frank, true expression of the marly rocky soils upon which they have grown for a century. A graceful mingling of vigor, concentration and well-tuned elegance, this wine is the incarnation of Burgundy's admirable synthesis of generous fruit with virtuous terroir. Please cellar or share with like-minded friends. "Ostrea" is a rare magnum worthy of keeping for years.

Terroir, the concept that wines from a specific region have unique and identifiable traits, is intricately...

Fans of rich, unctuous, and well-oaked Chardonnay will enjoy Chassagne-Montrachet, whose age-worthy offerings offer all the fatness of a California wine, yet retain a very Burgundian, mineral-driven core and great acidity....
