Cazcanes Astor Select Single Barrel D18 Anejo Tequila

Chosen for its more traditional artisan approach to production, this single barrel was made using time honored methods only - from the fully mature hand harvested agaves, slow stone oven cooking, open air fermentation and extra long maturation, 18 months in this case, in medium charred American Oak. As a counterpoint to the A3 barrel in this series of Astor Selects, this tequila has picked up a palpable decadence in profile showing how each difference in production method has made a huge impact on what you can taste in your glass. More expressively aromatic with the rich agave notes of ripe banana, raw honey, passion fruit, sweet almond and spice cake dovetailing perfectly with the richer vanilla, caramel and coconut notes from the extended time in oak.
