Luxardo Perla Dry Maraschino Liqueur

In honor of their 200yr anniversary, this formidable liqueurs house has bottled in extremely limited quantities perhaps their most prized spirit in its original form like it was made in the 1820s. Last bottled in the 1970s this very very special spirit utilizes ripe summer marasca cherries along with other components of the trees for a multidimensional complex flavor prism, including the leaves and branches. After a very long multi-year infusion everything is distilled and left to age further. For Perla Dry, not only is there considerably less sugar added and the higher abv of 40% adding to the elevated flavors but perhaps most unbelievably, the family has included cherry eau de vie that has rested for over 50yrs in glass demi-johns to this bottling. Quite simply put this is one of the most exquisite and greatest things we have ever tasted. There is no need to have it any other way than sipping it very slowly and savouring every drop. A masterpiece that we cannot imagine being topped. Limited to a one-off bottling of only 4,999 bottles each bottle comes in a custom blue coffer with a booklet inside that details the extraordinary history of this house in both English and Italian with vintage and contemporary photographs included.
