Almost all Barolo houses great and small make a chinato, but more often than not the bottles are kept for the family, not commercialized, and passed down from generation to generation. Getting bottles, especially older ones like this where the bold wines have had time to age in harmony with the botanicals and bitters, make them some of the more captivating drinks from these old cellars. This circa 1980s bottle was made proudly with the noble bitter base of China Calissaia. Only 1 available.
