Staff Pick Notes

Vollenweider Felsenfest Mosel Riesling has an electric energy that is undeniable. It's buzzing and alive - a kaleidoscope of stone fruit and citrus, white flowers, spice, fresh herbs and slate. It's light and bright with stoney minerality and it's dry -- bone dry. And there's a powerful story behind this wine. Moritz Hoffman was apprentice to legendary Mosel winemaker, Daniel Vollenweider and was appointed the role of chief winemaker when Vollenweider lost his battle to cancer in 2022. Hoffman is quickly making a name for himself and his brilliant touch with dry Riesling. He stays true to the simple philosophy learned from his mentor, there are no short cuts, no compromises. The work is all done by hand and vines are certified organic. Vinification is as hands off as possible. That's it. A delicious dry Mosel Riesling.

They are careful to retain the delightful honeyed, flinty flavors that the best sweet Rieslings have always displayed. Alsace, of...
