750 mL
Item # 51059

The flagship wine of the Domaine Lequin estate, these vines vary in age from 45 to 60 years old. Old vines equal concentration in wine, that and lower yields making this red Burgundy all the more rare. Fruity yet elegant and a Pinot Noir you can relish instantly.

Staff Pick Notes

So, you're looking for a red Burgundy that's ready to drink right now. You want something that doesn't need another four years in the cellar, but you also don't want to only find primary fruit on the nose. Well, look no further! Here's a Pinot that is absolutely screaming dirt and earth, a deep and intense wine showing juicy red berries and purple flowers, alongside a touch of animalistic funk and oak spice. The finish is marvelously lengthy. This is a complex Burgundy worth seeking out, and for good reason: Santenay, on the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, is just as steep as Côte-Rôtie. The Lequin clan has been tending vines there since the early 17th century; as the oldest family in the region, they have an impressive collection of the best vineyard sites (and oldest vines) on the hills. Enjoy now with confidence.

Terroir, the concept that wines from a specific region have unique and identifiable traits, is intricately...

Fans of rich, unctuous, and well-oaked Chardonnay will enjoy Chassagne-Montrachet, whose age-worthy offerings offer all the fatness of a California wine, yet retain a very Burgundian, mineral-driven core and great acidity....
