When it comes to defining greatness, in France, quite frankly, the bar is different. How many other places does a producer like this, around for 21 generations and counting and over 750 years! of farming, winemaking and distilling history actually have any peers? The truth is the types of producers that stack up to the caliber of Frapin are very few and far between anywhere in the world in any category. Even more extraordinary is that they are more relevant than ever and even more progressive by Cognac standards with old, cask strength single cask bottlings like this one.
Aged for 28yrs at the domaine in one of their ancient natural humid cellars and bottled at a cask strength that has come to a perfect equilibrium over the nearly three decades due to the humidity, the brandy is supple, opulent, generous and extremely elegant with stand out notes of tropical fruits, rancio, rich buttered pastries, candied ginger, sweet tobacco and deep resinous spices.
