Staff Pick Notes

One of the many things I love about wine is that you continuously come across places you've never heard of, like Zakarpattia. Where, you say? Is that a planet in outer Alderaan? Not at all. Although this part of the world has seen more than it's fair share of turmoil, to put it mildly, the volcanic land itself has been a continual source for beautiful, mineral-driven wines for more than 2,000 years. This dry, skin-contact white sees 24 days on the skins, producing beautiful aromatics (floral notes, lychee, passionfruit, & citrus) and good tannic structure with rounded stone fruits and spice. Whip up a batch of halushki (Ukrainian dumplings) and drink to the Force. May it be strong with them.
