Shakara 12yr Thai Rum

Thailand is one of the largest growers of sugar cane in the world, and the name Shakara comes from the Sanskrit word shakar, which honors the long history of sugar cane cultivation in the Southeast Asian region since the Neolithic Era. Aged in ex-Bourbon casks, the combination of high average temperatures and a humidity level between 60% and 80% concentrate the flavors of the rum. The results are a rich and deep palate leading into a long and complex finish, due to the very high angel's share compared to rums aged in continental climates. On the nose, honey, toffee, almond and a full spectrum of coconut from toasted flakes to dark chocolate bounty bar. The palate is fresh and lively with cane sugar and tropical notes of mango, papaya, and fresh figs. Salted caramel shines with perfectly integrated oak on the long and silky finish.
