Edelzwicker "Timothée", Dom. Paul Humbrecht - 2020

Item # 50667 750 mL

A dry blend of white grapes that isn't made every year, and the cépage is always different. A traditional Alsatian field blend, this is fruited, mineral, with a light, easygoing structure. Fresh, lively and versatile, this racy white will pair well with tarte flambée.

Glossary

Alsace

Located on the eastern border of France, on the west bank of the Upper Rhine, adjacent to Germany and Switzerland, Alsace represents the intersection of two wholly different wine cultures that have given birth to a third. Once part of the Holy Roman Empire, Alsace was gradually put under French sovereignty during the 17th Century and eventually made one of the provinces of France. Auxerrois

Auxerrois is the name of a low-acid white grape widely planted in Alsace, as well as in Germany and Luxembourg. Chasselas

A white grape grown all over the world, including Alsace, the Loire, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Italy. The best Chasselas wines, however, are produced in Switzerland, where the grape is called Fendant and is the most widely planted variety in the country. When made well, Chasselas is soft, welcoming and easy to drink.
