Is Dzelshavi the original Light Chillable Red? It might just be. Even with a slight tannic prickle, this particular wine is just downright gulpable. Simultaneously easy drinking and complex, its gorgeous pale crimson color and distinctively dusty red fruit on the palate help it stand out against today's sea of homogeneous ‘glou-glou’ reds that only hope to offer the authenticity this bottle brings. This Dzelshavi is wonderfully versatile, good for the table or enjoying on its own, sure to appease both the well-traveled and novice tasters. Winegrower Tarasi Minadze's family has been working with wine in mountainous western Imereti for five generations, so it tracks that this is absolutely delicious.
