Hampden Pagos Sherry Cask Old Single Jamaican Rum

Finally, we are able to experience the beauty of Hampden distillate combined with the depth of flavor that only true sherry casks from Jerez can impart. Hand selected 500 L casks previously holding Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherries were exclusively used in the maturation of this rum, and with 3-4 years of maturation in the extreme tropical climate of Jamaica, you can surely taste it! Hampden is already immensely prized for its unique fermentations, high esters, and world class distillation, but this bottling takes the flavors to another level. Pagos translates to "Cru" in Jerez, and this bottling definitely lives up to hype! The chocolate, spices, nuttiness, and dark fruits explode out of the glass, while the quintessential Jamaican funk is ever-present, yet restrained. This is a masterpiece in my eyes.
