Clermont Steep American Single Malt Whiskey

So far Freddie Noe's impact within the family empire that is Jim Beam, has been to conistently push way past the boundries of conventional Bourbon and Rye and explore new territories and flavors, essentially redefining American Whiskey along the way. One of the biggest ways American whiskey has expanded in the past decade is in the proliferation of American Single Malt, and so far this is easily one of the absolute best. Made from 100% hand selected malted barley, a proprietary heirloom 'jug' yeast distilled on a column still as opposed to pot and aged for a minimum of 5 years in new American oak casks. If there ever was a whiskey that perfectly split the difference between an old world malt and a recognizably American profile, it is this excellent whiskey. Well done.
