A light-bodied and fresh dry red made from Corvina and Rondinella. Fermentation and aging takes place entirely in stainless steel, and the juice spends only about one week on the skins, resulting in a very fine tannic structure and lots of dark fruit with a hint of spice. Pair with soprèssa and mushroom polenta.

Matilde Poggi has been making wine in the Bardolino region for over 35 years. When relatives divided the property in the 1980s, Poggi decided to create her own winery as opposed to selling the grapes. She is one of Italy’s most respected producers, and her elegant, vibrant wines are food friendly and loaded with personality. The Le Fraghe Bardolino exudes freshness and intensity of aromas. Fresh raspberry and strawberry mingle with tart cranberry. Black pepper, cinnamon, fresh herbs and peonies, orange peel and crushed rocks make this complex wine a pleasure and affordable to drink. Light bodied, this wine is for Beaujolais drinkers who enjoy a slight, tannic grip. A wonderful chillable red for your Friday night pepperoni and mushroom pizza.
