It is rare that a winemaking family can trace their craft back over 10 generations. Domaine des Amiel can trace their heritage back 14 generations to the land that they are still producing grapes on today! This bottle is a callback to this incredible history of traditional winemaking. Dedicated to the current winemekers uncle, Guy, who was the family geneologist. He dedicated much of his life to tracing back the family history and compiled this work into the book “Evolution of a Paysan Family in Languedoc from the 16th to the 20th century: the Amiel from Montblanc. Plus the wine itself is something truly special. Naturally sweet and not fortified. This is a wine that spends 12 months in barrel and becomes incredibly inky, dark and rich. Expect notes of dark fruits and cherries with a finish that will last the remainder of your evening.
