Velier Papalin 7yr Jamaican Rum

Item # 47051 750 mL

A first of its kind bottling created by combining two rare old rums from two iconic Jamaican addresses. Pot distilled rums from Hampden and Worthy Park distilleries were each aged a minimum of 7yrs at their respective sites prior to being blended together to create this limited time offering. This is in some ways an even more profound expression of quintessential Jamaican rum than if the rum had come from only one distillery.

Staff Pick Notes

The Velier name continues to be aligned with some of the most interesting projects within the world of rum, as the rum "dependent bottler", phrasing that alludes to their influence in curating some of the rarest selections in the world. The Papalin Jamaica features the blending of entirely pot distilled rums from the distilleries Worthy Park and Hampden Estate. The rums vatted into this blend matured entirely on the island for 7 years. An enticing blend full of notes such as overripe banana, toasted orange peel, warm tropical fruit, red currant, barrel spice, and a balanced drying anise finish to offset the abundant fruit. Diluted to a manageable 94 proof allows this to be much more accessible while not compromising the brilliance of the distillates in the blend, a rum for both the newcomer to Jamaican funk and the veteran to the hogo.
