The central Georgian region of Kartli has been capital region of most of the country for centuries. From this fertile base viticulture has thrived for millennia, and this red and white field blend is a prime example. More of a medium-bodied dry red, this aromatic blend of Chinuri, Mtsvane, Tavkveri, Shavkapito, Danakhruli is best at an overflowing table, as are all Georgian wines. Pair with grilled pork and chicken, green and red tkemali, and the iconic salads of this gorgeous country.

Staff Pick Notes

Leave it to Pheasant’s Tears to offer you something you probably have never experienced. Their Quinta is composed of white and red Georgian varietals that have been nearly forgotten about. What gives the wine its uniqueness is that the whites are skin macerated like the reds. It’s kind of a rosé but with orange wine blended. The complexion in the glass is of a rusty light crimson. You’ll note the trademark orange aromas of baking spice, golden flowers, and chamomile wafting from the glass. The red gives the wine tart cherry flavors. The wine is slick on the mouthfeel, and super easy to sip on. Fermentation and aging are done in stainless steel emphasizing freshness.
