This special annual release utilizes the distiller's famous dedication to sherry matured whisky and adds another dimension with the use of American Oak casks along with the tradtional European Oak. Each cask type was selected for the exacting quality standards of the brand and seasoned first with oloroso sherry before the extended aging of this spirit. Bottled after nearly two decades in cask this is a supremely well balanced and sophisticated dram. Very limited availability.

History:Distillation was brought to Scotland from Ireland by missionary monks in the 6th century. In 1644, the first taxes were imposed on Scottish distillers by England, with the result that most of the nation’s whisky was soon distilled illicitly. With the Parliament’s passing of the “Excise Act” in 1824, licensing fees for distilleries were much cheaper.
