Staff Pick Notes

Sandhi means collaboration in the ancient Sanskrit language. It signifies the joining of the ideas and labors of Raj Parr star sommelier and Sanford and Benedict vineyard veteran winemaker Sashi Moornan. They began their project with the intention of displaying the rocky, cool climate terroir of the Santa Rita Hills AVA. The fruit is sourced from organic growers and the wine is made with no additions or subtractions. The wine is the anti Napa chardonnay, as overblown flavors are replaced by old world elegance. The nose has some ripe apples, a little spice, a little brown butter, and a little burnt sugar. The palate is rich with a slick mouthfeel and an underlying briskness. Some green apple fruit and some herbs. Beautiful with an orzo paella.
